Wednesday vs. Colchester

Hillsborough, Sheffield

Saturday, December 1

15:00

Preview: Owls v Colchester

Wednesday will be hoping it's lucky number seven on Saturday as they look to kick December off with three more points against struggling Colchester United.

Brian Laws has guided the Owls to six games without defeat after a poor start to the season, and will be firm favourites going in to the clash with the U's at the weekend.

But the 'Manager of the Month' gong for November could well continue its dreaded curse as Colchester look to upset the form book and bag some much-needed points to take back home.

Vital Quotes:

Wednesday Team News:

Wednesday boss Brian Laws will have a tough decision on his hands for the visit of Geraint Williams' men, with midfielder Glenn Whelan likely to be back in contention for a starting spot after missing out through a hip injury recently.

But Laws will have difficulty changing a winning team, with Yoann Folly impressing in the centre of the park alongside Steve Watson in recent weeks.

Wednesday have no fresh injury concerns going in to the clash after the midweek victory over Barnsley, but Etienne Esajas and Wade Small are both pushing for recalls.

Player to watch: Akpo Sodje

The powerful Owls' hitman has been in top form recently, resulting in a nomination for the Powerade Player of the Month for November, and will be the biggest threat in front of goal for Wednesday.

Colchester Team News:

Colchester could be handed a huge boost with the news that Teddy Sheringham could return to the side for their trip to Hillsborough.

The former Manchester United, Spurs and West Ham man has seen the start of his U's career hamepered by injury but is looking sharp for a return to action on Saturday.

With Lawsy winning manager of the month, will the curse strike? Hopefully we can carry the win over Barnsley forward and give Colchester a thrashing! :)

This is going to be a walk over, stuff the curse, laws wiont be bothered about that, he will be just telling the players to carry on what they are doing and that is winning.
will it ever happen
