Owls faced Birmingham City late on Saturday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras meaning that Owls around the globe are likely to be able to catch their favourite Owls in action. Despite a great Hooper opener, the Owls succumbed to a 2 - 1 reverse after two errors allowed City a penalty then an unmarked injury time header.

That Lukas Jutkiewicz header and Donaldson penalty denied the Owls three wins on bounce this week.

During the first 45 minutes Wednesday had controlled the game and looked confident in possession and in creating scoring chances. Fletcher laid off to Forestieri who controlled and hit the advancing Blues keeper in the game's first chance. Next up Abdi headed over from the edge of the six-yard box after Adam Reach crossed from the byline.

The Blues felt they could have had a penalty midway through the first period when ex-Owl Jacques Maghoma fell under a Loovens challenge on the edge of the area. The former Wednesday winger shortly after had a freekick from 25 yards easily saved by Westwood.

The tight and tough evenly-matched clash was drifting towards a draw until the final action packed 15 minutes. A long ball forward was controlled by Fletcher who even slipped but managed to recover and flick the ball onto Hooper who isn't going to miss from 8 yards out.

That lead was thoroughly deserved on the balance of the game but only lasted four minutes. A hopeful ball forward was controlled by Donaldson despite the presence of several Owls defenders, Westwood charged off his line to bring down the Blues forward. The error was punished by Donaldson as his penalty drew the scores level.

The game looked to be heading for a draw until a crazy 40 second spell, a well placed Palmer cross was clattered against the bar by Wednesday forward Nuhiu. The ball broke out and was eventually popped into the Owls box for an unmarked Jutkiewicz was allowed to drift into space onside, and his header across goal gifted the Blues the winner.
