After making a number of appearances from the bench, Palmer made his first league start for Wednesday in the trip to Bournemouth in February 2011 and retained his place in the starting XI next time out against Carlisle.

He is thought highly of at Hillsborough and more first team opportunities should aid his development during the 2011/12 season.

Palmer signed a new contract during the 2010/11 season that will see the midfielder stay at Hillsborough until 2013.
