Madine was signed by Alan Irvine in January 2010 from League 1 rivals Carlisle United. The coveted forward rose through the ranks at Brunton Park to make his senior debut at just 17-years-old after scoring regularly for the youth and reserve team.

He enjoyed loan stints with Rochdale, Coventry City and Chesterfield to gain regular first team football and came to the fore at Carlisle United upon his return, scoring against Southampton in the 2010 Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley.

Big things are expected from him in the 2011/12 season if he can find a suitable striking partner.
