12 shots and target for blades????? must have missed that
ozzietheowl
yellow cards was about right. i've noticed all the closet oinkers have come out now they finally won one lol
stealthyowl
i'm on this website every day, and i read through everyone's views and ive finally decided to voice myself and my disgust at 2nite's result, how the **** they've won that i never know. We completely outplayed them, got the ball on the floor and played some very good football at times; outlined by 2 terrific goals. Sheffield United play the numbers game, punt it into their goal and hope it bobbles in, and if their fans appreciate that then god help them. I'm proud of 2nites comeback and i honestly think we can push on this season and reach the playoffs. Watched the game at champs and alot of the pigs agreed that we played the better football, and where unlucky to be 3-0 down. Purse and Buxton out, Hinds and Simek in, if simek isnt fit, i'll come and play for free and do a better job than that moron!
spaced_
speced my lad, couldnt agree more.......now get yourself on the site we could do with more positive and in my opinion correct views.
ozzietheowl
reyght game, even though we lost, if we passed it along the deck in the first half instead of playing into they're game of rugger we'd have won. Still well proud of the second half deserved a point could have sneaked a win even. Agree with spaced on Buxton and Purse out Buxton looks accident prone at the back all the time and goes walkabout, Purse doesnt seem to be on same wavelength as rest of defence. I'd put EEE on LW, JJ on RW(where was he tonight?) and put Gray at RB, Hinds CB
wesp
No cutting edge, no defensive cohesion. Last seasons finest defence has been ruined by the arrival of Purse, Buxton has lost all confidence, why isn't Sodje getting more games, why isn't Esajas played more often, why is Laws obsessed by experience (Jeffers, Purse, and Miller) prefering these timeservers taking their high wages for little effort to better players who will shed blood for the club (Beevers, Hinds, Esajas)? Yes we played well in the second half but lets stop kidding ourselves, thats 1 point out of 9 and we were lucky to get that. BL needs to look at himself and his team and remind everybody that winning games is what they're there for and this needs to be done soon before we face another season of sliding toward relegation. Admit it when you've got it wrong BL, have the courage to change things and move on. C'mon Wednesday!

Purse again was shocking,he looks lost.we ad them camped in their own half upto them scoring and again back post unmarked simple finish. But wot a come back Esajas made a massive difference wen he came on they cudnt handle his pace n skill.Thought we deserved a point @ least and i think Laws needs to look @ purse n hold his hands up n say he made a mistake with playing him. This was best derby game ive witnessed in years and wasnt one sided for a change, piggys @ last put up a fight but wud say a few of them lucky to be on pitch.Bring on the rematch leeeeeeeeeeeets getttttttttttttttt readyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 22222222222222222222222222 ruuuuuuuuuuumble.
ollyowl70
good game we were by far the better side purse needs to go asap and hinds to replace him same for buxton ffs get simek back the only two weak links in a decent side funny really they won but all the plaudits go to us for that second half haha UTO
bradford_owl
i agree with bradford owl. Fair enough they won but I dont hear them shouting about it after that second half because they were genuinely scared that we were going to get a deserved point. The only reason purse was on the pitch was because he is the captain. anyone else would have been dropped with the performances he has provided us. Buxton was shocking against forrest, didnt see the boro game so cant comment but he was awful last night. It seems like we have turned our awesome home defence of last season into our terrible away defense. the only comment i would make would be to start JJ and EE on either wing to start with because we need pace on the wings and Gray just didnt provide it.
tomawest
What were we doing in that first half at the back? Great second half and we deserved at least a point. I'm not attacking Buxton but he'd have been better off letting Henderson have a free header cos he'd never finished it as well as Lewis did! Poor old Blades, they just can not and have not played football in my lifetime. You sometimes walk out of Hillsborough after we've played someone of the park but I know for a fact the Utd have never done this, they sometimes batter teams into oblivion but never outplay anyone. I know what I'd rather see

If you would rather see your team play pretty football and come of the field with out any points, than win (whether it is ugly or what) then you cant care for your football club. Its a results business and if you think you are going to be near playoffs at the end of the season you are in cloud cookoo land im afraid. The idea of football is to win as much as you can and you cant seem to do that with your style, sorry. And football is also a game of 2 halves. You were the better side in the second half i will give you that but you were no where near us in the first.
Evil Blade
evil, the first half we played with your 'style', rugby hoofball hoping for lucky deflections and feed off scraps, you got them we didnt, i thought the first half was pretty even 3-0 or not. Your defence is pretty solid against that though and we were always going to be second best in a physical game. Second half we played 'our style' (it resembles football) and we outclassed you. Solid, if not over physical defence, hoofball to Henderson, flick-on if he wins it free kick if he doesn't- is it like that every game?
wesp
Many good points made in the above submissions. Accept we should always be positive and look for the good things in games what drives people to comment on boards such as this is when something is happening which is preventable. On the negative side from last season; Wednesday conceded more headed goals than any other side in the Championship and also conceded more goals away than any other side. At the same time our defence at home was the second best. This tells me it was a lack of confidence away from home rather than a lack talent in the side to defend. I have now seen Purse one too many times, he is clearly not the player he once was and is no longer up to Championship standard. We now have a side going forward which will score goals and players who we can bring in which will supplement current starting XI (Clarke, Sodje, McAllister, Esajas, possibly some of younger contingent in addition). Therefore if Beevers is fit he needs to be brought back into side extra pace and height help the defence. Believe with us finding the back of the net regualrly will give the team confidence including defence. There is a preoblem at right back and if we bring anyone else in on loan hope it is a right back. Think we should start a campaign to get Kyle Naughton on loan from Spurs it would wind up the chaps from the Lane.

I've never felt so good about losing! The fact they got 3 scrapy goals only addresses our defencive problems as people have said above. The home fans were bricking themselves from the moment tudgay scored and were silent till the 89th minute. In the 2nd half Wednesday were awsome, everyone knows it, even the blunt fans have noticed that our 2nd half performance has outshadowed their slender win.

I said that Purse is not the answer right from the start, but no many people on this site said we needed a old head at the back to help the young ones. The thing is he was'nt getting a regular game for Cardiff, but because he was on a freebie we had to sign him, and let me tell you this, B L is not the only person to blame, most of it has to rest on the chairman's shoulders, he promised investment, it never materialized, he promised bigger budget for B L doubt weather that happened if you add up all the in's and out's. I do feel sorry for B L at times it can't be easy and he will make mistakes thats only natural under the circumstances, but this chairman is really beginning to fack me off, at every game, not putting one penny in to this club, sat there as if he owns the place, if things don't start happening soon we'll be getting towards season ticket time, and i'll tell you this for nothing mr so-called chairman, owls fans will not fall for it again and you'll be lucky to get 7,000 s t this time.
ecco owl
Ecco, the new voice of doom :) Strafford has never said he'd put any money in, so why are you surprised? Do you want Allen back? Great comments above- some of you guys should pop on to the forum now and again.
Auckland Owl
Auckland just remind me how many season tickets have you bought this season?
ecco owl
Evil Blade of course I care about winning every game, the point I was making is that sometimes (all be it not that often at the moment) I want to see real football from my team and not just other teams on television. From your comments I can see that you at least understand what I'm getting at. As for your style getting results, that is pretty debatable as you haven't set the world on fire in the last 30 years have you?
Hirsty's Shinpads
Ah ecco, the old jibe.. I expect it from Blunts and have heard it far too often for it to hurt. I asked you two questions, a civil answer would be preferable.
Auckland Owl
No Auckland i don't want Allen back, and i no he never said he would put his own money in, but he is quick to have a go at the loyal fans who put money into this club week in week out, have them thrown off is so-called premier stand which now is almost empty every game thanks to the chairman, i've payed over 12 hundred pounds this season so i think i have a right to say what i think about a man who puts nothing in, and has the audacity to have a go at us for not getting 25,000 through the gates.
ecco owl
must admit i agree with ecco on the chairman ive invested just short of a grand and i wasnt impressed with his comments on stay away fans if he had have put some money in himself then maybe he would have the right to comment on other wednesdayites
bradford_owl
Thanks Bradford i was beginning to think i was on my own on this one.
ecco owl
no ecco your not on your own i think he upset quite a few people on radio sheffield just after we thrashed scunny nothing about the result or how we played just the fact there was only 20000 there stating that he was unemployed once and he still went to games i was at the game and i was still annoyed at the comments
